Contra Dance at the Farmers Market

An Old Style dance with friends and family so all ages are encouraged to participate at the Farmers Market 4024 Richlands Highway.

Learning to Grow a Garden

Beginning Friday February 10th, 2012 the Onslow County Farmers Market and the Cooperative Extension office will began its sixth year of teaching it’s 20 week long Horticulture, Entrepreneur, Leadership, Program, (H.E.L.P.) for adults wanting to learn how to grow their own garden. The class will meet from 5:00 to 7:00 pm every Friday night at the County Extension office 4024 Richlands Highway, through the end of June giving you the opportunity to learn how to plan your garden, prepare the soil, plant, fertilize, irrigate, pest control, and harvest your own food. Participants also have the opportunity to bring home what they have planted. Cost is $50.00.

Farmers Market Fall Festival November 5th
Posted by: | CommentsThe Onslow County Farmers Market will host its Annual Fall Festival and the Master Gardeners 4th Annual Camellia show. 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, Saturday, November 5th, with Free hay rides, bobbin for apples, cake walk, reptile exhibit, antique tractors, farm animals on sight, not to mention fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, baked goods, honey, fresh eggs, jams, jellies, seafood, live music 10:00 to 12:00 noon and hundreds of beautiful camellia’s for the enjoyment of young and old alike.
More Rain Forces Thursday Farmers Market to Close Early
Posted by: | CommentsEffective Thursday, October 13th the Western Blvd Farmers Market will be closed for the balance of this years season due to heavy rains this week following hurricane Irene. The Saturday market will remain open through Saturday, November 5h.
Saturday, April 9th at the Market
Posted by: | CommentsThis Saturday, April 9th opens our 2011 season with Strawberries just picked; along with the beginning vegetables of the season such as Lettuce, Radishes, Turnip greens, Mustard greens, Kale, & Asparagus.Just in time for spring planting you can find Bedding plants, Flowers, Hanging baskets and don’t forget the very best in Baked goods, Jams & Jellies, Relish, Cheese, Honey, seafood, and the freshest of meats from beef,goat, lamb, rabbit and even live flounder.
Guest Chef Linda Hatcher will be giving out free samples of chocolate covered strawberries and Rick & Friends band will be entertaining from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
